The Student Environmental Club will now meet regularly on Sundays at 6:30PM on the second floor of the student center.

 OUR NEXT MEETING: February 10th, 2008 at 6:30PM on the second floor of the student center.  Bring an article about a current enviornmental issue if you want. We will discuss these and in the process get more of an awareness about environmental issues.

Upcoming events In The Works:

2/21/2008: Potted-Plant Making Extravaganza- Pots, Soil, a variety of seeds and paints/brushes are all provided. All day event. Come to decorate your pot and then plant seeds that will grow–all free.

3/21/2008: Hemp-Bracelet Blowout-All materials + beads provided. All day event. Students have the opportunity to sit down and make earth-conscious bracelets for free.

2/14/2008(tentative): *Student Environmental Club Fundraiser: All-day event in the student center. “Earth” cupcakes will be sold. All of the proceeds will go to the advancement of the Environmental Club.

*Green Dorm Challenge- Students in all dorms that choose to participate have a week or month long opportunity to save electricity. Electricity usage would be monitored throughout dorms that chose to participat. Things like turning off lights, computers, etc will all be motives to win the challenge and to ultimately inspire students to become more sustainable in their living-styles. The dorm that wins the challenge could be treated to restaurant gift cards and green prizes. Advertisments and publicity before, during and after the event is crucial. Volunteers strongly needed. Student Activities Fair This Tuesday!

Campus Efficiency will table at the Student Activities/Community Service Fair this Tuesday, January 29th from 12-4 in the Student Center. Don’t forget to check out the school’s  student-driven avenue for education and action on the nation’s and world’s most pressing environmental issues.

*Note:  The Student Enviromental Club(Campus Efficiency) is looking for someone to take an officer position as Club Secretary. If you are interested, we strongly encourage you to come to our first meeting this Thursday, 1/31/2008 at 4PM on the second floor of the student center. If you can not make it please email us back and let us know a good time for you to meet.

Sustainability Week, October 22-October 26, 2007

Starting October 22d, The student environmental club, Campus Efficiency will kick off Sustainability week. The week will include a formal presentation, tour and shuttling in a renewable-energy powered bus put on by BioTour(www.biotour.org)environmental documentaries, light bulb exchange(we will be giving away free energy-efficient light bulbs), a sustainability fair with dozens of organizations(including the Sierra Club, Segway, MARC, Mass. Recycles Paper and many more) from the greater boston area manning display tables/exhibitions, a weigh your waste day, free energy-efficient products, and much more!!  The times for different events throughout the week will be posted as more information comes in.
